Analytics – eg how visitors use our website
We use Google Analytics to store information about how visitors use our website so that we may make improvements and give visitors a better user experience.

IP addresses
An IP or Internet Protocol Address is a unique numerical address assigned to a computer as it logs on to the internet. Woods Energy does not have access to any personal identifiable information, and we would never seek this information. Your IP address is logged when visiting our site, but our analytic software only uses this information to track how many visitors we have from particular regions.
On what basis do we collect and process your data?
Data Protection law defines the basis by which we can lawfully collect and process personal data. If you are a registered customer we will use your personal information to:

Check that you are a registered customer if you call us;

We will collect personal data when we are required to through a legal obligation, such as requirements from public agencies in relation to financial reporting. We will also collect and process personal data where it is in the legitimate interest of Woods Energy to do so.

Current Clients: We will hold your data for the duration of your contractual agreement with us, then for a period of up to 6 years, with a review every 2 years. Woods Energy does not process special category data as defined by Article 9 of the GDPR.
Access to your information, correction, portability and deletion
What is a Subject Access Request?

Data Storage and Security
Woods Energy follows strict security procedures to ensure that your personal information is not damaged, destroyed, or disclosed to a third party without your permission and to prevent unauthorised access. We store both physical and electronic records. We have put in place technical and organisational measures to ensure our physical security as well as technical measures for data backup, authorisation and authentication onto systems. We use secure firewalls and other measures to restrict electronic access, including anti-virus and anti-malware measures. If the data must be transferred to a third party, we require them to have in place similar measures to protect your personal data. We have a process in place to mitigate the impact of any data breach that should occur.
